It’s been almost 3 months of rains and storms and we’ve somewhat avoided taking anything cold such as ice cream for fear of catching a sore throat. Well with warm weather setting in and the Ramadhan month almost coming to an end, Popsicles are making a comeback in my snack plan. I think every mother should consider making Popsicles for the weekends, especially after the kids have been playing in the hot sun or after church service. You can also get more creative and make them for guests or when you are hosting your children’s birthday parties. You can be sure to become the coolest mother in the world or the best aunty in the estate.
i promised to share my homemade Popsicle recipes made from Daima’s Flavoured Milk, which will be my first blog post of the month. By the way Daima’s Flavoured Milk is so easy to work with. It’s affordable and has a sweet taste, so there’s no need to add any sugar. My recipes use their vanilla flavour but you can vary tastes depending on the flavours you’d like from their banana, strawberry, mango or chocolate flavours. You can also substitute black currants with other fruit options in the market such as pineapple, kiwi, banana, apple or strawberries.
Ingredients with amazing health benefits
Black currants are rich in vitamin c and have plenty of anti oxidants and anthocyanins. As a mum , you’ll be worrying that the Popsicle will leave your kids down with a flu. The good news is black currants strengthen the immune system, soothe sore throats and ease flu symptoms
Turmeric is basically a dried root originating from India which is ground into the distinctive yellow turmeric powder. I ♥♥♥ turmeric for its colour (no need to do food colour) as well as its anti-inflammatory disease fighting properties.
Cocoa powder gives the flavoured milk a chocolatey twist, plus contains flavanoids that are good for your kid’s healthy heart
